Virginia Historical Society's Girl Scout Patch Day

The VHS Patch Day will require the Scouts to participate in three different activities to earn their signature VHS patch.

Registration is now available for Patch Day programs. Please contact Caroline Legros at the number below for troop reservations. Each program begins at 10 am. Listed below is the schedule for each program.

Story of Virginia History Box Stations Activity One: Story of Virginia History Box Stations

The Scouts will circulate through the Story of Virginia, stopping at six stations throughout the exhibition. Each station will feature one of the society's Hands-On History Boxes, with replica artifacts that the scouts will use to learn more about girls' and women's lives during Virginia's history. Each box will also focus on one or two women who lived during the period being discussed. The Scouts will collect stickers in their "History Box Passport" as they pass by each station. All six stickers must be collected to complete the activity. Time needed to complete activity: 1–1 1/2 hour
