The VHS is proud to be accredited by the American Association of Museums (AAM).

The American Association of Museums is the national organization representing the museum community and addressing its needs, thereby enhancing the ability of museums to serve the public interest.

American Association for State and Local History (AASLH)
The American Association for State and Local History provides leadership, service, and support for its members, who preserve and interpret state and local history in order to make the past more meaningful in American Society.

Independent Research Library Association (IRLA)
The Independent Research Libraries Association was established in 1972 in order to address the future of independent, privately-supported research libraries.

Southeastern Museums Conference (SEMC)
