Join us for this bus trip to Washington, D.C., where we will visit the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum. There we will enjoy a "Highlights in the Museum” tour of some of the most awe-inspiring icons of flight and of the special exhibition Artist Soldiers: Artistic Expression in the First World War. Our day concludes with a stop at Shiloh Baptist Church in Fredericksburg to view the Memorial Window to Dr. Urbane Bass.
This program will explore Virginia’s maritime past, examining naval clashes like the battle of the Chesapeake and the battle of Hampton Roads as well as the transformation of Norfolk into the world’s largest Navy base during the twentieth century.
Part concert, part costume party, you don’t want to miss this chance to wear your raddest ’80s outfit and help us celebrate the opening of our new exhibition, "A Material World: Photographs of the 1980s from the Richmond Times-Dispatch."
