Virginia Historical Society Offering Free Family-Friendly Activities in August
With its entertaining and educational exhibitions and powerfully cool air conditioning, a visit to the Virginia Historical Society (VHS) is the perfect family activity for a hot summer afternoon. But, the VHS is making a trip to the museum even more exciting with the August Afternoons.
Beginning Wednesday, August 1, and continuing until Friday, August 31, the Virginia Historical Society will offer families the opportunity to participate in educator-led programs, craft activities, and group readings of historically-themed books. All programs are free and open to the public. Advance reservations are not required. August Afternoons takes place from 2:00-4:00 p.m. daily in the Carole M. and Marcus M. Weinstein Classroom.
