Educational Programs for Homeschoolers

The VHS is happy to provide educational programming for homeschool groups of 10 or more individuals and welcomes students of all ages.

Choose from among the following programs:

PocahontasTours of The Story of Virginia

Choose a comprehensive tour of the exhibition, or treat a topic in more depth. Either option allows students to explore the history of the commonwealth.

  • From Native American Virginia to the Twentieth Century
    (Approximately 90 minutes)
  • From Native American Virginia to the Civil War
    (Approximately 60 minutes)
  • From the Civil War through the Twentieth Century
    (Approximately 60 minutes)
  • The Civil Rights Movement in Virginia
    (Approximately 35 minutes)

Equal Suffrage League, 1915 Hand-On History Box Presentations

Our "History Boxes" use replica artifacts, diaries, letters, documents, and photographs to explore various periods of the Commonwealth's history.
Choose from a variety of programs.

October 5 - The Westward Movement
November 2 - Pocahontas and the Powhatan Nation
December 7 - The Westward Movement
