 The Virginia Heritage Registry is our grateful acknowledgement of individuals who include the Virginia Historical Society in their financial or estate planning through the following ways:

Designation of a retirement account's final balance can save both income and estate taxes.
• Charitable Gift Annuities
Charitable gift annuities return a secure lifetime income from the gift.
• Charitable Remainder Trusts
Charitable remainder trusts allow an individual to share property with the
VHS and to pay either a fixed or variable stream of income.
• Charitable Lead Trusts
Charitable lead trusts can reduce estate taxes on property transferred to heirs by directing income from that property to organizations like the VHS for a time period.
