The VHS invites you to attend a FREE Civil War-themed open house.

Hands-on children's activities, music, story telling, and entertainment are planned throughout the day. Also, visitors can chat with historians in period costume, be a contestant in a trivia game, and register to win prizes. Activities will include:

• Special gift to the first 100 visitors

• Be a contestant in a Civil War-themed trivia game

• Be one of the first to see the new VHS exhibition, Lee and Grant

• Register to win a night at The Jefferson Hotel, admission tickets to Pamplin Historical Park, a Radio Disney prize pack, or a special tour of the galleries guided by Charles F. Bryan, Jr., President and CEO of the VHS.

• Music by the Celebration Male Chorus

• Historical re-enactors throughout the day

• Book signings throughout the day

• Special viewing of the Mary Custis Lee trunks

• Food available by Chic-fil-A

• Storytelling by Tell Tale Hearts Troupe

• Children's activities, history boxes, and more!
