Admission
Beginning January 2010, the VHS is offering free admission to the museum and research library.

Circulation
Library materials may be examined in the Joseph Bryan and John Stewart Bryan Reading Room, and do not circulate. Library staff deliver requested materials to patrons in the reading room. Library policies

PLEASE NOTE:

The Virginia Historical Society has begun a project that involves the complete replacement of our standard book storage with compact shelving. During the period of this project, January 29-May 17, 2013, some portions of the VHS rare book and general research collection may be inaccessible to users. Please check with our library reference staff (804-342-9677 or reference@vahistorical.org) in advance of a visit to the VHS to learn what portions of the collection may be currently inaccessible.
