Make an appointment to view photographs & museum objects

Photographs, prints, paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and other three-dimensional objects are included in the Society's museum collections. Items not currently on exhibition are generally available to be viewed by appointment.

VHS will respond to a request for an appointment within 3 work days. Appointments must be confirmed by VHS. All appointments take place at the VHS, located at 428 North Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia. [Get directions]
For those unable to visit Richmond, VHS staff can produce digital snapshots of most items. [Order digital snapshots] (Please note that VHS does not make "quick" scans for review.)
