VHS researchers can provide a moderate amount of research (maximum of one hour) for a prepaid fee of $25.00. This includes a limited number of photocopies.

Also note that although the Virginia Historical
Society has genealogical materials,
the principal library for genealogical research in
Virginia is the Library of Virginia
which serves as the official archival repository of
the Commonwealth. Deeds, wills, marriage records, and military service records are
located at the Library of Virginia.
