Fitzhugh Lee  Fitzhugh Lee

Fitzhugh Lee (1835–1905), shown here on a tobacco label, was a nephew of Robert E. Lee. Himself a political moderate, his election as governor in 1885 inaugurated nearly a century of Democratic rule and undemocratic practices.
