Make an appointment to view photographs and museum objects

Photographs, prints, paintings, sculptures, artifacts, and other three-dimensional objects are included in the society's museum collections. Items not currently on exhibition are generally available to be viewed by appointment.

Because of the de-installation of two major exhibitions at the Virginia Historical Society, staff will have limited availability to respond to inquiries regarding items in the VHS museum and photograph collection or to schedule appointments to view items or conduct other objects-related research from mid-October 2013 through April 2014.

All appointments take place at the VHS, located at 428 North Boulevard, Richmond, Va. 23220 (get directions).

For those unable to visit Richmond, the VHS does offer photocopies and digital reproductions.

(Please note that the VHS does not make "quick" scans for review.)
